How to Lead a Happy Life in a Busy World

It is hard to find happiness in today’s busy, selfish world. Being an unemployed mother in a big city makes it hard for me to achieve everything I want. I want my family to have the best quality food, but it is hard to do it on a budget. From time to time I find everything too stressful and overwhelming and I have to turn to myself and try to find some inner strength. I wrote down five rules I found crucial in order to survive in the modern busy world. Here are these rules:

  1. Be authentic

The best thing anyone can do is drop pretenses just to please someone else. Do not let anyone else tell you what you should do, do what you love and need to d in order to be happy. As soon as I stopped trying to be someone else and started thinking positive, nice things started happening to me.

  1. Learn to say no

Probably the best thing I have learned over the years is how to say “No”. I have started to say what I mean and mean what I say which proved to be the best thing ever. A lot of people tried to take advantage of me because I was always a hard worker and a people pleaser, but there are limits to everything. You just have to learn to set those limits and learns to say “no” to people who do not appreciate your work.

  1. Immerse yourself in whatever you decide to do

I have always known I want to be a writer. I was writing short stories at the age of 10 and have been writing ever since. It’s my inner call, something that makes me whole and helps me grow. I have seen people waste their lives doing jobs they do not love and I have to say I feel sorry for them. I truly believe everyone has a special, unique talent and it is a shame not to pursue it. Great things happen to people who follow their heart and intuition. I started blogging at High Style Life after a friend of mine asked me to join their team and I realized how awesome blogging is. I plan to have my own blog very soon so I could be able to constantly share my thoughts with my readers, hear some feedback and maybe even make a difference in someone’s life.

  1. Healthy mind in a healthy body

Lately, my motto is: “Exercise for your body and mind”. I love spending time with my daughter outside as she is quite an active child. I also often ride bikes with my husband or friends, and sometimes we just go for long walks in the park. Our family leads an active lifestyle and it is relaxing and invigorating for everyone. I also like to make healthy smoothies and shakes and have a couple of after workout drinks, because they are a perfect refreshment and have a great effect on both the body and the mind.

  1. Comparing is toxic

The last but not least golden rule is to stop comparing yourself to others, because it will lead you nowhere. We are all unique and beautiful and we should try to be the best we can today. If we succeed to be better than we were yesterday, then we have made a big step forwards. Every night when I go to bed, I try to sum up my day and immerse everything I learned from the people I met and from my daughter. She teaches me the most amazing things about life because a child is still so pure, unpoisoned by our society, its rules and constraints.

2.2

Finally, all I can say is that I am grateful for what I have and I am happy with my life. It took me a while to make an order in my life in this crazy world, but everytime I feel the whole world is against me I think of these 5 rules and it all comes back to normal. My family and friends helped me a lot and they inspire me to become a better person every day. We have one life and we should appreciate our uniqueness and the amazing gift of life we received free of charge.
