Rule of odds

I am sorry this post is a bit late but unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes. Today I am discussing my next photography tip which is rule of odds.  In photography people say that odd numbers within a photograph is more pleasing to the eye. I am showing three examples, the photo above has three layers which draws you backwards and makes you wonder what is in the distance.

The photograph here is three subjects in a line. I particularly like this photograph because the subjects are staggered which draws the eye on to the journey of the photograph.

The final photograph this week is still using the rule of odds but with more subjects. I think the v shape particularly adds another dimension to this shot.

Have you used the rule of odds before? What do you think of this technique? Share your views below.
