Those of you who have been following my blog for a while you will know I love Macro photography, I love being able to show the tiniest of details that you can miss walking around every day. I have previously done a post on Macro Lenses the Pros and Cons which you can read here but today I thought that I would share an alternative way of getting Macro shots without having to spend loads of money.
If you have a Nikon or Canon DSLR you can use something called a Reversal Ring which allows you to use the lenses you already own but the wrong way round. You can buy these from either Amazon here or alternatively eBay also sell them. The idea is that you choose the ring that is the same size as your lens eg. 52mm and you would carefully attach the ring to the front of your lens and then attach it on to the camera like you would a normal lens. This then allows you to use your chosen lens as a macro lens which is awesome! The only downside is that you will not have Autofocus so you will need to witch your camera to manual focus. If you have shaky hands and are struggling with the manual focus I would definitely use a tripod to give you some more stability. The way the reversal ring works is that the lens basically become a high quality magnifying glass. The quality is still very good and allows you to try the technique before investing in new kit.
